Question 1

What date is 9 months before October 15?

Accepted Answer

9 months before October 15 is January 15.

Question 2

Is 9 months before October 15 always the same date?

Accepted Answer

Yes — when working with month/day only (no specific year), 9 months before October 15 consistently lands on January 15. In years where the result month has fewer days than the source, the day is clamped to the last valid day of the result month.

Question 3

What is 9 months after January 15?

Accepted Answer

9 months after January 15 brings you back to October 15 — the calculation is reversible.

Question 4

How do I calculate 9 months before a date?

Accepted Answer

Subtract 9 from the month number. If the result is 0 or negative, wrap around by adding 12. For example, October 15 is month 10, so 10 − 9 = 1, which is January.
